Blue light has many serious negative effects on living things, including human beings. A small amount of blue light at night can turn off the production of the body's melatonin, possibly leading to a wide variety of debilitating or even fatal medical issues. Most LED street and area lights in use today use LED chips that produce blue light almost twice the intensity of the rest of the luminaire's spectrum! Learn about these effects and how to reduce them.
